My name's Lisa. And this blog is about my views from the twenty-one years I have had on Earth.
I've gone from being a dreamer to a pessimist to a nihilist to an optimist. I look for the silver lining, which may annoy some people, but it's how I keep the smile on my face.
The transition is possibly a bit strange, but in I way I probably needed to go through all of them to get to where I am now. It's my way of saying I've been to hell and back.
Some things to know about me:
- My childhood wanted to make sure I never made into adulthood. At least I'm fairly sure it would have, if such a thing were able to have those sort of targeted actions. From this time stems most, if not all of my insecurities.
- I am a science student. I believe that there is both a beauty to this world and an understanding to it. I study biology and geology.
- I speak roughly five languages, none of them very well in my opinion.
- There won't be many pictures of myself on this blog. One of those insecurities I mentioned was not liking how I looked. I'm sure this is fairly common, but most of the pictures I'm in, I can't help but to hate how they make me look.
- I am spiritual without being religious. I came to the conclusion a long time ago that most of the people I conversed with who pushed religion on me were cult-like and/or hypocritical. And so, I made up my own beliefs. This does not make me a bad person, just an uncommon one. To simplify most conversations, I say that I am a pagan.
- I love P!nk and Smashmouth music most in this world, but that doesn't mean I don't listen to a lot of different types and artists and such.
- My biggest dreams in life are to be a novelist of the same books that helped me out of the darkest bits and to be a teacher.
- I try to be a good person, but I'm only a human. I will falter at times, but usually it's only to protect my heart from reopening bad wounds.
- I prefer paper and pen to a keyboard and electronics.
- I didn't like to watch any television until I was seventeen.
- I play the flute.
- I don't drink or party. Or anything related.
- I'm not sporty, but I am outdoorsy.
- I'm the psychiatrist of my friend group.
- I like to doodle (see the hummingbird).
- I believe in Operation Beautiful and contribute.
All the best and I hope you can stand me,
Lisa
